PlasmaPowersPossibility: International Plasma Awareness Week 2026

International Plasma Awareness Week (IPAW) will take place from October 5 to 9, 2026. This global awareness week shines a spotlight on a topic that is often overlooked in everyday life: the vital importance of blood plasma and the fate of the patients who depend on it.
In keeping with this year’s IPAW motto, #PlasmaPowersPossibility, we at Europlasma are here to educate you and show you why plasma donation is so important.
Blood plasma is the liquid, yellowish component of our blood that is packed with over 120 vital proteins, antibodies, and clotting factors.
Blood plasma cannot be artificially produced in a laboratory. Every single treatment exists only because a person actively chooses to donate. Since this knowledge is often lacking in society, the IPAW deliberately focuses attention on this valuable, purely human raw material.
IPAW gives a strong voice, above all, to those who would otherwise often remain invisible. Your donated plasma is used to produce over 100 highly complex medications that represent the only chance of survival for many patients:
One of IPAW’s core goals is to overcome people’s reluctance to donate. Donating plasma is a simple process, as the following facts show:
Here’s a real insider tip that many people aren’t even aware of: Donating plasma is good for your own body, too! Medical studies show that regular plasma donation can help reduce the strain on your metabolism: Depending on your baseline values, donating can help lower your cholesterol levels and positively regulate your blood pressure. On top of that, every visit to Europlasma includes a free wellness and health checkup for you.
Use International Plasma Awareness Week as inspiration and create your own #PlasmaPowersPossibility moment! Visit us at one of our 10 plasma donation centers in Austria, get informed on-site, and save lives.
